OUR HISTORY

A Legacy in Logistics

Logistics isn’t just our business—it’s in our DNA. Denis Simons, the grandfather of Henry Simons and father of Glenn Simon, started his career as a chauffeur and tanker driver before launching his own courier company alongside Glenn. With nothing but determination, a strong work ethic, and an unshakable commitment to service, they built a business that thrived on reliability and personal relationships—values that still drive us today.

In 1988, Crisis Couriers was founded, quickly becoming one of the UK’s leading same-day courier services. The business was sold in 2001, but Glenn wasn’t done. In 2007, after his non-compete expired, he launched Crisis Same Day, growing it into a major industry player before selling it in 2017. The company later rebranded to what is now known as Xtra Express, closing the chapter on Crisis and paving the way for the next venture.

A Humble Beginning

While Glenn was building and selling successful logistics businesses, Henry Simons was forging his own path. Henry started with nothing but a 350 sq ft office, a phone book, and a vision. He built a strong reputation for reliability and customer service, growing the business from a handful of clients to a network that included household names and multinational companies.

Synergix The Start

Recognising an opportunity to create something bigger, Glenn Simon was approached by Anthony Champness and Jonathan Payne, who informed him that parts of a larger logistics operation in the UK were being shut down. Seizing the moment, Glenn came out of retirement, bringing his decades of experience in funding, scaling, and managing logistics businesses, and funded the launch of Synergix Logistics. With the creation of a new warehouse in Iver, the company gained momentum, rapidly becoming a trusted logistics provider.

Where Two Became One

In 2021, Henry Simons, having already built his own successful courier and logistics business, merged his operations with Synergix Logistics, strengthening the company’s capabilities and service offerings. Together, Glenn and Henry leveraged their combined expertise to grow the business rapidly, navigating industry challenges and adapting to market demands. Thanks to their commitment, the company not only survived through challenging times, but also flourished.

However, despite the success of Glenn and Henry, it became evident that the approach taken by the pallet distribution and storage sectors was not aligned with the Simons’ long-term goals. With different visions for the future of the business, it was decided that the best course of action was to split Synergix Logistics into two separate entities.

Synergix Same Day Solutions

In October 2023, Synergix Same Day Solutions was launched, co-owned by Henry and Glenn, with a renewed focus on same-day and express logistics. This move allowed the business to hone in on its core strengths and streamline operations, freeing up energy and resources previously spent on pallet networks and storage.

Thanks to Glenn’s extensive knowledge and Henry’s operational expertise, Synergix Same Day Solutions is now well-positioned for continued success, focusing on fast, reliable, and customer-driven courier solutions and haulage options that meet the ever-changing demands of the logistics industry. Our passion for service, combined with our flexible approach, ensures we’re always ahead of the curve—ready to adapt and deliver for our clients, no matter how complex or time-sensitive the task.
